Who’s the choice maker in me?

universalityoftransformation:

As you reflect on the seemingly endless choices being made, allow your attention to shine a light on “who” or “what” is making them. In the practice of self-inquiry, you grow in your awareness of the higher self, the one who consciously choices to Love, to live fully, to be present here and Now. ~ Leeza Edwards

This is a re-post of a blog I wrote a while back. jaceturner:

You’ve been invited to a dinner party, as you arrive you see one parking spot left in line of cars that hug each side of the street. You walk up to the door, a little anxious that everyone else has already arrived. You are welcomed warmly by the large group gathered in the living room. Immediately one of the guests comes up to you, holding out his business card. “Hey, I’ve got this wonderful business that you should really check out. It’s really amazing and I have a lot to offer, here’s my business card. “You can come in any time you’d like, in fact I can go ahead and set up an appointment with you right now.” You tell the man you really appreciate him offering you his information, you take his card and let him know you’ll contact him as the need arises. He then dashes off to go give the same information to someone else in the group, walking across the room business card in outreached hand.
After a deep breath you turn and start a conversation with some of the other guests of the dinner party. One of the people you’re talking to just happens to be an experienced and well respected artist, who would be perfect to work with on a project you’ve been wanting to get started. Through conversation, two other people find out that you are offering a service they had no idea they were looking for, and see incredible value in becoming clients of yours.
That night when you get home you find three emails in your inbox, one from the artist and one from each of your new clients. They express how lovely it was to meet you and that they look forward to working with you. After a quick, mindful response to the emails you prepare for bed, reflecting on the night. Somehow you left the dinner party with two new clients and a new “partnership” without feeling like you had done any work. All you really did was have conversations. There was no trying to impress and yet you left an incredible impression.
And then a thought comes up about the man who approached you with his business card and his dashing about to other guests. He was working so hard and getting no results. The energy he approached you with was needy, he needed you to like him, to do business with him. He looked exhausted, anxious and edgy. Then it dawns on you, while he was attempting to sell himself you to he lost you. Laughter raises from within as you think about the times you had done the same thing. Now, seeing clearly, you get to choose to be mindful of how you are being with people. A thought arises “I’ve made more sells when I’m relaxed, just being myself then when I’m out TRYING to make sells.”
Now when you go out in to the world you tend to be more relaxed, less stressed about selling yourself. Knowing that simply being yourself, bringing your presence and unique perspective to the present moment with each interaction, has taken you down a path of unimagined abundance. You’ve set sail in to the seas of abundance and as you sail further out, more and more abundance comes your way with less and less work put forth. Work for you has become play time.
